One of the first (possibly the first) J2ME games to carry the stealth-action theme and apply it well is Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. This game, first released for this platform on March 31, 2003, is not only available on J2ME, but can also be found on various other platforms such as Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox.

After completing it once, the application of its stealth-action gameplay style is remarkably good and has fairly intuitive controls. At a time when other games were still largely arcade, platformer, and puzzles, Splinter Cell was able to incorporate more complex gameplay in 2003, a time when J2ME was still in its early glory days and therefore its operating system was still a bit underdeveloped.

In this game, the allure of Sam Fisher, the main character who is a special ops agent from the NSA (National Security Agency), always attracts with its unique gameplay flow from its era. Armed with various advanced gadgets and extraordinary espionage skills, he moves stealthily in the shadows to carry out numerous secret missions in inspiring and surprising scenarios.
